Legal Aid Commissions across the country periodically invite applications from suitably qualified lawyers to join their ICL panels.

Eligibility to join an ICL panel requires successful completion of the national ICL training program.

Watch this space- new Independent Children’s Lawyer National Training Program is due to be launched in early 2018.

National Legal Aid (NLA) is redeveloping its national Independent Children’s Lawyer training program. The new training program will replace the program previously offered by NLA in collaboration with the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.

The new program will be rolled out across the country in the first half of 2018.

Dates and locations for the new programs will be advertised through the ICL website on this page so please check in again for updates.
